Half Roof Design

A combination of a gable and a hip roof pitched roof without changes to the walls with the hipped part at the top and the gable section lower down.

To create a half hip roof. The opposite arrangement to the half hipped roof. The half roof truss design can go up against different style that when nitty gritty right can ooze a cutting edge feel. It may consist of a flat roof on top but the main design element is the multi pitch sloped in what is essentially a hip roof on top of another hip frame.

A hybrid of hipped and gable with the gable wall at the top and hipped lower down. It can likewise loan itself pleasantly to dormers which expands the usable floor zone and characteristic light. It is a combination of gable and hip roof styles in which a hip roof plane builds upward from a partial gable wall. Using metal such as copper or zinc for the steep portion of the roof can be more expensive up front but will require much less maintenance down the road making it a good long term choice.

A half hip roof has two gable ends but at the top of each gable is a small hip that extends to the ridge. A roof design gives the chance to extra floor space in the roof volume similar to a space or upper room space. A half hipped roof is almost identical to a simple hip roof design but instead the two sides of the roof are shortened creating eaves at the either side of the house. This type of roof provides more options for extending the loft and installing windows allowing a greater amount of natural light into the room.
